Bulk-edit items

Update many items at once by selecting them or importing a spreadsheet.

When the same change applies to many items — a new category, a price increase, a supplier swap — editing them one at a time is slow. Bulk-edit updates a whole selection in one pass.

Edit a selection in place

  1. Go to Inventory → Items.
  2. Filter or search to narrow the list to the items you want.
  3. Select them with the row checkboxes, or use Select all to grab the whole filtered set.
  4. Choose Bulk edit and pick the field to change — for example category, default supplier, or price.
  5. Enter the new value and Apply.

Filter first, then select. Applying a change to a precise filtered list is safer than hand-picking rows across pages.

Update via spreadsheet import

For large or detailed changes across many fields, export the items, edit the spreadsheet, and re-import:

  1. Export the item list to a spreadsheet.
  2. Edit the values you need, keeping the SKU column intact so rows match existing items.
  3. Re-import the file and review the change preview.
  4. Confirm to apply.

Bulk changes apply immediately and can affect many records at once. Quantities are not bulk-editable here — use stock adjustments for counts. Double-check your selection and the preview before confirming.
