Importing overview and supported objects
What you can import into Fiddle and the order to import it in.

Importing lets you move your existing records into Fiddle from a spreadsheet instead of entering them by hand. The Import app handles one record type at a time.
What you can import
| Object | Notes |
|---|---|
| Inventory items | SKUs, descriptions, units, and starting stock |
| Customers | Companies, contacts, and billing details |
| Suppliers | Vendors and their contact information |
| Supplier pricing | Per-item costs tied to a supplier |
| Sales orders | Open orders with their line items |
| Locations & item types | Reference data items depend on |
Import in dependency order
Some records reference others, so order matters. Import each level before the records that point to it:
- Locations and item types
- Inventory items
- Customers and suppliers
- Supplier pricing and sales orders
Importing out of order causes “record not found” errors — for example, supplier pricing can’t attach to an item that hasn’t been imported yet.
How a single import works
- Open the Import app and pick a record type.
- Download that type’s template and fill it in.
- Upload, map columns, preview, and run.
Next steps
Start with Prepare your import file, then work through each object. To get data back out, see Export your data.
