Issued batch records

Generate a working copy of a master for a specific run and record it as you go.

An issued batch record is the working copy created when you actually run production. It is a snapshot of the master for one specific batch, where operators record what really happened.

Issue a record for a run

  1. Start from an approved master batch record for the product.
  2. Enter the batch quantity — Fiddle scales the materials and quantities accordingly.
  3. Assign a batch (lot) number so the run is traceable.
  4. Link the record to a work order if you are tracking output and stock alongside it.
  5. Issue it to the shop floor for execution.

Issuing freezes the procedure for this batch. Later changes to the master do not alter a record that is already issued.

Record execution

As the run proceeds, operators complete each step in order:

  • Enter actual measurements and readings.
  • Issue the specific material lots consumed at each step.
  • Pass or fail in-process checks.
  • Capture sign-offs as steps are performed and verified.
Status Meaning
Issued Released to the floor; not yet started
In progress Steps are being executed and recorded
Completed All steps done; awaiting review and signature
Closed Reviewed, signed, and locked

Do not skip ahead. Steps with required checks or sign-offs must be completed in sequence so the record reflects the true order of production.

Next steps

When the run is done, complete and sign the record.
