Units and measurement settings
Configure units of measure, currency, and number formatting for your account.
Units and measurement settings define how quantities, currency, and numbers are recorded and displayed across your account.
Units of measure
- Go to Settings → Units & measurement.
- Review the built-in units of measure (each, kg, liter, meter, and so on).
- Add any custom units your products need.
- Set a default unit so new items start with a sensible value.
Each item is stored in a base unit. Keeping that base consistent is what makes stock math, BOMs, and reporting reliable.
Currency and number formatting
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Base currency | The currency totals and costs are stored in |
| Decimal precision | How many decimal places quantities and prices show |
| Number format | Thousands separators and decimal symbol |
Choose your base currency and base units carefully at setup. Changing them later affects how existing values are interpreted, so it’s far easier to get right from the start.
Set decimal precision to match how you actually buy and sell. Whole-number units like each rarely need decimals; weight-based items often do.
