Print templates and documents

Customize the layout of POs, invoices, packing slips, and labels.

Print templates control how your documents look when you email or download them — purchase orders, invoices, quotes, packing slips, and labels.

Edit a template

  1. Go to Settings → Print templates.
  2. Pick the document type you want to change.
  3. Add your logo and adjust the header, colors, and footer.
  4. Choose which columns and fields appear on line items, including any custom fields.
  5. Save, then use Preview to see it with sample data.

What you can customize

Element Examples
Branding Logo, accent color, company details
Line columns SKU, description, quantity, price, tax
Totals Subtotal, tax, discount, grand total
Footer Terms, payment instructions, notes

Multiple templates

You can keep more than one template per document type — for example, a detailed invoice and a simplified one — and choose which to use when you send a document.

Preview against a real record before sending to a customer or supplier. It’s the quickest way to catch a missing field or a logo that’s the wrong size.

Templates change how documents are rendered. They don’t change the underlying numbers, taxes, or quantities on the record.

Next steps

Decide who gets notified when documents are sent with notification recipients and preferences.
