Customer quote requests

Receive and respond to incoming quote requests, then turn them into quotes.

Updated June 21, 20261 min read

A quote request is an incoming inquiry from a customer asking for pricing before they commit to buy. Fiddle collects these so you can respond quickly and track follow-up.

Where requests come from

Requests can arrive from a customer-facing request form or be entered manually by your team after a phone or email inquiry. Each one captures the customer, the items they’re interested in, and any notes.

Review and respond

  1. Go to Sales → Quote Requests to see incoming requests.
  2. Open a request to review the items, quantities, and customer details.
  3. Confirm pricing — saved price lists and product prices fill in automatically.
  4. Click Create quote to convert the request into a formal quote.

Track request status

Status Meaning
New Just received; needs review
In progress Being priced or discussed
Quoted A quote was created from this request
Closed Declined or no longer active

Respond to new requests promptly. Converting a request into a quote keeps the customer’s details and line items intact, so you don’t re-enter anything.

Next steps

After you create a quote, learn how to convert it into a sales order once the customer accepts.
